  • Notes
    • John Larlee and Sarah Hudenot were married by Rev. Dibblee.

On April 6, 1801, John Larlee was married by Rev. Dibblee to Sarah Hudenot. Two chldren were born to the couple before his wife's early death, namely Samuel Hudenot, baptised July 31, 1803 and Sally, baptised Frebruary 18, 1805. Their mother was buried March 12, 1805.

On Septembr 30, 1806, John Larlee petititoned for lot 21 in Wakefield Parish on the west side of the Saint John River that had been formerly allotted to Jesse Baker. He was granted a 250 acre lot on which he laboured for the next eight years, but found it unsuitable for cultivation.
On August 24, 1808, John was married by license to Nancy Craig, by whom he had at least four more children by the time he moved to the reserved lands in the spring of 1814. John and Samuel immediately erected each a house and began to cultivatte the land when they were informed that the Indans had a claim on the lands. In July, the brothers petitioned the government for relief, stating that they had been "at considerable expense and loss of time in fixing themselves on this situation and it would be attended with great inconvenience to them and their families to be removed, having nothing but their labor to depend on for the support of themselves and families."
